Piloting

If you have never been to Grenada, or simply feel more comfortable with a pilot with local knowledge, just let us know in advance so we can arrange to have our pilot get onboard your yacht and navigate the entrances to marinas or harbours. We have had our pilot join yachts in our sister isle of Carriacou &, from there, navigate tricky anchorages in the north of Grenada for specific events for the guests, then navigate down to anchorages in the south.

We also know the best anchorages for your yacht, so do ask.

If you intend on berthing in the Port of St. George, there is a mandatory requirement for all vessels 200 gross tons and above to have a pilot from Grenada Ports Authority onboard upon entering and leaving the Port of St. George. Pilots require 24 hours notice in advance of the vessel's arrival and 3 hours in advance of the vessel's departure. We can request the pilot on your behalf and notify him of your arrival and departure times. If you would like us to organize your pilot from the Grenada Ports Authority, we ask that you send us a copy of your Ships' Registration as soon as possible, in advance of your arrival, together with your arrival information, so that we may complete the process for procuring you a pilot.

When you arrive outside of the Port of St. George, you can radio to "Grenada Pilot" or "Grenada Port Control" on VHF 16 to contact the pilot and let him know you are ready for him.
